Welcome to Native History Magazine. Through these pages you can
learn about the history of Native American Indians --- which is also the history of North America. The focus of the magazine
is geared toward educators which includes parents. The majority of the articles are based on primary sources rather than secondary
sources. For people new to those terms, primary sources are usually documents created at the time an event happened. Examples
are letters, diaries, books, maps and some newspaper articles. Secondary sources are normally not first-hand knowledge or
documentation; although these items do have a place in research. Classroom aids will be found in the "Lesson Plans" section.
In addition to the article-types described above, you will find pertinent
contemporary articles. More information on the structure and content of this magazine can be found in the "Mission" section.
Contributions are welcome. See the "Contact NH" section for details.
NEW!!! We've added a "Blog" called "From the Editor..." Check out the latest news, newest links and other educational resources.

What we teach our children determines their future.
"I can tell you
that understanding begins with love and respect. It begins with respect for the Great Spirit. All things -- and I mean all things,
have their own will and
their own way and their own purpose. This is what is to be respected."
-- Rolling Thunder, Cherokee
